As humans we are social creatures. When there are blocks that hinder our ability to socialize we can end up feeling isolated and alone. With the COVID-19 pandemic still looming over our heads, many of us are unable to be with the people that we love. So how can we still find ways to socialize and feel connected to our support group of friends and family?
The Importance of Connectivity
In this blog post we will share our top 5 best ways to stay connected as well as some free PATHS Program LLC Valentine's Day cards that you can print or email to friends, family, teachers, and more!
TOp 5 WAYS TO PROMOTE CONNECTIVITY
- Weekly face-time or zoom group call.
Consistency is one of the best ways to remain social in times like these. Have a weekly catch up call with friends or family. Make it fun with a virtual Sunday night dinner or mid-week recap. - Group exercise.
If the COVID-19 restrictions in you area allow you to, meeting up with your inner circle at the park (socially distanced of course!) for a yoga session or favorite workout can be a great way to get those endorphins pumping and maintain a sense of normal socialization amidst the pandemic. - Start or join an online club.
There are many online bookclubs or movie watching clubs to be apart of! Try joining a facebook group or starting your own club with friends and family. - Check in on those who live alone.
Reaching out to those who live alone can make all the difference in brightening their day. Humans need social interaction and even just a quick call to say "hi" can be enough to make someone's day. - Send a card!
One great way to let someone know you are thinking about them is to send them a card or note! This can take less than 5 minutes and is the perfect way to check in and keep lines of communication open with you and your loved ones.
